The Crowne Plaza Harbor LA offers valet parking for up to fifteen days, two welcome drinks, and two free breakfast buffets along with their parking and shuttle service. This is great for couples, but not so good for families. Normally, these hotels willcharge a bit extra for that service.

Rates are $20 per day for regular vehicles, $40 for oversized vehicles. So for a week-long cruise, expect to pay about $140 for parking. With roughly 20 million residents in the Los Angeles area, it’s no surprise that many people end up driving to the cruise port and parking. No, there is no covered parking available at the Port of Los Angeles. All of the paid parking here is uncovered, and so is all of the free parking. Some of the hotels offering room and parking packages may have covered parking available, but you would need to check with them first.

The World Cruise Terminal at the Port of Los Angeles is located at 100 Swinford Street in San Pedro. The World Cruise Center is home to Norwegian, Princess, Oceania, Royal Caribbean, Disney, Cunard, Crystal, and Celebrity Cruise lines all sail from the Port of Los Angeles. Until recently, Carnival cruises sailed exclusively from the Port of Long Beach, but as they’ve expanded they now sail from the Port of Los Angeles as well. If there’s a major event happening in the area, there may be a $5 fee forthat day, but you would only be charged if you enter the lot on that day. For free parking much closerto the Cruise Center than Crafted, head to the San Pedro Fish Market. Thisworld-famous seafood restaurant is perfect for parking before your cruisebecause you can also grab a delicious lunch before boarding your ship.

Since there are so many options for food and entertainmentin the LA Waterfront area, the Los Angeles Terminals themselves arepurpose-built. No matter the reason, Long Beach offers a number of hotels that are within just a short distance of the terminal. Los Angeles — while far from being the biggest cruise departure port in the country — offers two different cruise ports. The Long Beach terminal is a short distance from the Port of Los Angeles (about 15 minutes via car).

Los Angeles & Long Beach Cruise Parking (Where to Park)

If you’re driving yourself tothe Port of Los Angeles for your cruise vacation, there are plenty of parkingoptions to choose from. The World Cruise Center has its own parking lot, andthat lot is hands-down the most convenient option. It’s right there at thecruise terminal, making it as easy as possible to get from the car to the ship,and then from the ship to the car when you return. Parking is available, by Parking Concepts, Inc., at parking lots 1, 2, 6, 7 and 8.

Today, you can have your choice of cruise lines in the area, from Carnival to Princess to Norwegian to Royal Caribbean. While they would never be mistaken with the world’s most popular cruise ports like Miami and Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles and Long Beach are still heavily trafficked cruise ports. As you can see, the Los Angeles Port comes from a verydifferent kind of commercial history than luxury cruises. While the port as awhole is still dominated by shipping, the Los Angeles Cruise Terminal is a bigcruise hub. The Sunrise Hotel offers a shuttle service and continental breakfast as part of their parking package. Best Western Plus San Pedro includes seven days of parking and charges $10 for each additional day, if needed. Depending on when you book with them, they may require you to book a minimum of two nights to qualify for the parking package. But Los Angeles is a huge cityin the middle of one of the biggest metropolitan areas in the country. Thatmeans there are plenty of people taking cruises from Los Angeles who won’t beflying in to the city.

You’ll definitely want to get an Uber or Lyft from that parking lotto the cruise terminal. If you feel a little nervousabout using a business’s parking lot while you’re away on a cruise, check outthe parking lot at 22nd Street and Miner Street. It’s further from the Cruise Center than the otheroptions, but it has easier access to public transportation. You will definitelywant to get a ride from here to the Cruise Center. Travelers must pre-book transportation for one-way or round-trip service. It’s abig enough parking lot that this isn’t likely to cause problems. The Port of Los Angeles is aworking commercial Port, and there are residential neighborhoods right next toit. Still, the WorldCruise Center has managed to carve out an area for its own parking.

Fortunately, Los Angeles rarely has the sort of weather that requires covered parking. However, parking spots here can’t be reserved and may fill upbefore you arrive.
